OUR ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Concern for the environment is an integral and fundamental part of Self Cater Cornwall business strategy.
Self Cater Cornwall is committed to good environmental management practive in connection with carrying out its own business operations.
What we do
*** In our office we recycle paper, envelopes, printer cartridges and other office consumables.
*** We use only energy saving light-bulbs in our office.
*** We regularly review our energy supplier to make sure we are getting the most competitive rates.
*** Where possible we walk instead of driving and we keep our energy consumptions down to a minimum.
*** We only use paper produced from 100% farmed plantation fibre.
*** We use fair trade tea and coffee.
*** We not longer use plastic or paper cones provided for use with our water fountain. We now use glasses.
*** We only use green cleaning products.
*** We are an active member of CoaST (Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project) and we are a corporate member of SAS (Surfers Against Sewage)
*** We strive to engage with property owners to encourage them to be as sustainable as possible.
*** We strive to engage with visitors to ensure they keep their environmental footprint as light as possible.
*** We provide each property and its guest with lots of information about the local area, encouraging guests to try local Cornish produce, use sustainable forms of transport and enjoy the wonderful sites and experience that are right on your doorstep.
*** We employ local people where we can.
*** We buy local goods where possible.
*** By taking part in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
*** We aim to set up within the next six months a visitor pay back scheme to benefit a local charity.
We think that ensuring that Self Cater Cornwall is an environmentally, socially and economically responsible business only then can we achieve sustainability.
We hope that being a sustainable business we will help protect our local area.
