Chef Paul Harwood opened The Fish House after cooking at Rick Stein’s for 14 years in Padstow. Overlooking Fistral Beach and just a stone’s throw from the sea, he serves up a variety of vibrant dishes inspired by his global travels. From spicy Indian fish curry to cod tempura, he uses locally caught fish and shell fish straight from Newquay harbour.

The baked camembert is to die for, and they even offer a special vegan cheeseboard. The owners are passionate about wine, so choose your best bottle from the large variety of in-house wines.

Gilmore’s on Tower Road is a fun, family-friendly restaurant offering a yummy menu of tacos, burritos, nachos and salads, with options for kids too. Sink your teeth into a warm Cornish classic! Morris Pasties is a small traditional pasty shop in the centre of Newquay Town, serving locally-produced pasties made just down the road in St Columb. They are made to a secret family recipe and, boy, is it a good one.
8. Salted Maple & Pecan Fudge from Roly’s Fudge
Stock up on traditional Cornish fudge at Roly’s Fudge on Newquay high street. This local favourite uses traditional recipes and ingredients to make delicious fresh fudge every day. Roly’s Fudge has won 82 awards over the past ten years, and its delicious flavours include the likes of Salted Maple & Pecan Fudge.
