Ivy Chimney Cottage, a one bedroom self catering detached cottage located in West Cornwall two miles from Porthtowan on the North Cornish coast.
The cottage is in a rural setting within the grounds of the owners own home. There is plenty of garden space which guests may utilise, as well as secluded and private areas that are exclusive to the cottage. The property is a perfect all year round retreat for couples only or couples with an infant. Dogs are welcome.
There is ample car parking to the front of Ivy Chimney Cottage. There is an outside courtyard terrace with a BBQ and a first floor lounge terrace with furniture with stunning rural valley and coastal views towards Porthtowan and St Agnes Beacon. Guests have full use of the gardens for their own enjoyment or to exercise their dog.
Ivy Chimney Cottage is within a World Heritage Mining area and unused engine houses can be seen at various points. Walkers can take advantage of the eleven mile trail between Portreath on the North Coast and Devoran on the South Coast. The trail can be accessed within a ten minute walk from this property and was the subject of the BBC4 Documentary Railway Walks with Julia Bradbury. The nearby hamlet of Wheal Rose is home to the famous Roddas Clotted Cream. It also has a bakery and farm shop both of which sell ‘proper’ Cornish pasties. The villages of Porthtowan, Blackwater and Mount Hawke are a short drive away.
