COVID-19 UPDATE: AS AT 1st July 2020

A BIG WELCOME BACK TO CORNWALL FROM US!

We are nearly there!

On Saturday, the 4th July 2020 we are welcoming guests back into our properties. We continue to support the government guidance around leisure travel and are of course aware that this is conditional and subject to change.

On and after the 4th July 2020 we are welcoming our new and existing customers who have booked that well earned break, to come and hear the seagulls, smell that salty sea air and hear the roar of the surf and to come and enjoy this most charming and stunning county that is Cornwall!

As Covid-19 is still very much with us here are some pointers for our guests to bear in mind:

THINK, PLAN, BOOK IN ADVANCE AND STAY SAFE

Although Cornwall will be as wonderful as ever, you’ll notice some changes. This means that you’ll need to plan and book tickets in advance at most of your favourite attractions and activities, and most restaurants and eateries will require a reservation.  Put simply, you will need to do more research, planning and pre-booking for your stay or day out.

Please keep to the guidelines, especially those on social distancing and hand washing, while having patience and respect for each other.

For everyone’s protection we have applied higher standards of cleaning and changed our procedures to comply with the new Government advice.

And, if a beauty spot, beach or town is too busy, why not simply go and discover a new favourite place and explore our hidden gems, often just around the corner. We look forward to seeing you for a great holiday in Cornwall.

CLEANING PRINCIPLES – GUESTS 

We want to reassure you that all measures have been taken to ensure that this property has been cleaned thoroughly and according to the current guidelines for COVID-19 so that you can enjoy your stay with confidence.

CLEANING TEAMS

All our cleaners wear appropriate PPE equipment (minimum PPE requirements a face mask and gloves) and have had training / guidance to enable them to work safely and to correct guidelines.

MAIN SURFACES & ITEMS

We have used BioD sanitisers, which conform to BS EN 1276 standards as well as an Isoproponal 99% alcohol to further sanitise all surfaces and heavy-use areas / items such as worktops, tables, welcome folders, remote controls, switches, sockets, cords, door & window handles, thermostats, plugs and all appliances.

NON ESSENTIAL ITEMS

Non-essential items which are difficult to clean have been temporarily removed, such as board games, computer consoles, surplus crockery, decorative soft furnishings such as cushions (where possible) and throws. We thank you for your understanding and hope that this will not detract from your stay.

EXTRA CLEANING TIME

Due to the extra cleaning time required and given that disinfectants require at least 1hr to dry once cleaners have left, we have an earlier check-out time of 9am to allow for extra cleaning time. We really do appreciate your adherence to this so that the housekeeper can ensure the same level of cleanness / standard for the next guests arrival, which we have also allowed extra time for and again we thank you for your compliance and understanding.

REPORTING AND MANAGEMENT of INFECTION

We will adhere to government guidelines on reporting and managing potential infection cases. If you or a member of your group have any of the COVID-19 symptoms we ask that you inform us as a matter of urgency on: 01637 859595 so we can take appropriate action.

Please note that if you are a customer from a local lockdown area due to Covid 19 both yourself as the Booker and all members of your party will not be permitted to travel and we will not be able to accept your holiday booking.  For your options would you kindly refer to our notes and 3 point plan listed below.

  • There are UK Government restrictions on travel due to the Coronavirus outbreak which make going on your holiday impossible
  • The property or location you have booked is legally closed to visitors due to the Coronavirus outbreak
  • The property owner closes their property

Then you will be able to choose any of the following options:

  • Transfer your holiday to new dates in 2020 or 2021, free of charge. Furthermore, if you choose the equivalent dates in 2021, we will freeze the price.
  • Get a credit voucher for the value of your holiday, to spend on any  break, to take place before the end of 2021
  • Cancel your booking and receive a refund to the value of your holiday, minus our booking fee (maximum of £40).

Your wellbeing, your health and safety and the property hygiene are of paramount importance to us here at Self Cater Cornwall Holiday Lettings. We as a company have taken all reasonable steps to make sure our guests, housekeeping teams and owners are safe and healthy in our properties. Self Cater Cornwall Holidays Ltd cannot be held responsible if a guest, housekeeper or owner displays symptoms of Covid-19 or any other related or non related illness, or contracts Covid-19 or any other related or non related illness in any of our self catering accommodation.
